With the aims to empower employees to be aware of their wellness and healthy habits on a regular basis to the insightful ones, SCB provided
the many more sessions to educate while also fun to engage in order to make it a true healthier, happier workplace.
And so, what did SCB do to make all of these things come true in 2019? The lists are long!
HEALTHIER WELLNESS WITH PHYSICAL HEALTH
In each week, SCB provided a health session in ‘BUILDING OUR GOOD HEALTH’ Campaign that held different health topics with the
educational talks from the experts and specialist doctors to increase awareness and improve employee health behaviors.
The sessions held each week, for example:
- Ways to prevent and avoid stroke
- How to keep respiratory system healthy
- Snore remedies
- Avoid & manage diabetes mellitus
- Alzheimer's & Dementia Prevention
- Dental and oral health
- How to avoid kidney disease
- Balancing hormones
- 4 new influenza vaccines
But we didn’t only make a session to let SCB people get more knowledge and information to take care of themselves. We also had the workshops and health screenings providing for free! For example, Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), dental exams, skin examination, body composition analysis, eye exam and vision testing basics, bone mineral density test, massage therapies, etc.
HAPPIER STRONG MENTAL HEALTH
SCB scheduled the time for employees to get to talk and manage their stress with psychiatrists on-site each month, at SCB’s medical room, providing the accessibility within the company itself!
Because we acknowledge how important the stress management is and needed to be set as one of the prioritized values, especially people who are at work that can easily get affected by the stressful works. Besides having an expert to talk to, SCB people can generate positive vibes with fun activities. We did a campaign called ‘Reduce Stress Before Afternoon’ (ก่อนบ่ายคลายเครียด) and ‘Afternoon Relaxing’ (หลังบ่ายคลายเครียด), including fun games to make employees relax from work during the day.
This way allows the company to prepare beyond “just” wellness, but dig deep to create a healthier and happier workplace. Wellness program, for SCB, doesn’t only mean about physical health but also aligned with mental health in order to help alleviate depression and improve life satisfaction for employees.
WHY ARE ALL OF THESE THINGS IMPORTANT TO EMPLOYEES AND COMPANY?
For the employee side, it definitely makes them productive employees to have less office stress and less other illnesses until they can be at their full self-capability and happier, preventing the burnout feeling and the other mental illnesses as well.
The company can’t look over this basis of living to let the employees see that the company values them as humans and that they’re more important than just a resource of work. All of these things help the company get higher engagement and higher employee satisfaction. And that it’s one of the best ways to tell how the company truly cares for the well-being of its employees. Because happy and healthy employees make happy and healthy organization.
