Bad Weather Means Good Productivity

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? You would probably think that the dark cloudy and rainy day is the worst day ever as it will reduce your energy and productivity to the lowest points.

But research by Francesca Gino and colleagues says the opposite!

In ‘Rainmakers: Why Bad Weather Means Good Productivity,’ the research team tested the connection between productivity and weather in a research lab that is controlled setting with 136 college students at the Harvard Decision Science Laboratory as the participants.

On these experiments, half of them were asked to come to the lab on a rainy day and the other half to come on sunny ones. It then explains that on a sunny day, the participants will be deliberately tempted and reminded by the sun to go out and do other outdoor activities.

The team also gained the data on how workers shortened their time doing a task on rainy days while clear, sunny days were having less of productivity as they were distracted and it also effected to their work performance.
